I hear you got the package with the tumbleweed. These are pictures of it growing wild in the desert. You can see there is a small one like yours and a bigger one. They look big and bushy but it all comes from the one little stem at the bottom. They winds are intense all the time here. You could probably fly a kite everyday except you wouldn't be able to hold on and it would sail away. It is no wonder that they snap off at the bottom stem and blow away...or tumble away. the tumbling tumbleweed. Like a doing forward rolls in gymnastics! over and over and over.......
These are more pictures. They come in all sizes. Story has it that cowboys would use the larger ones for campfires. When it was done burning it was time to go to bed! This is a field of tumble weeds ...so you can see they could pick how big a fire they wanted! The train is just neat. There are a lot of them here...really long ones! Getting here we traveled more of Route 66. We stumbled across
this teepee motel. Too cool. The rooms inside are square and low ceilings...not teepees at all!Don't the old cars look like something out of the movie Cars? The tow truck looks like Mater to me. We could not find Cool McCool! The song from the movie is one of my favorite traveling song. When it comes on the radio I turn it up and bop along and sing just like you guys do! ...if you're going my way...
